4th Person Shooters
@Chrisorourke - Isn't that when you watch someone else play a 3rd person shooter?
@Collindonnel -That's when you sit on the couch yelling "No, shoot that guy!" at someone who's playing a third person shooter.
@Juananaguy - Time travelers with BFGs?
4th person shooters.
Trying to think of what 4th is: It definitely involves hyperbolic geometry.
I keep going to 4th dimension
Firing the guy to where yo know the person’;s going to be.
What if 4th person is memory, vs. What I’m doing right now, but what I you, he she or it has done, retroactively.
Assume a multiverse and some connections between people recursively.
Simultaneously 1st and 2nd. Observing yourself as 3rd person.
@Anthropunk - @caseorganic @doctorlaura the person with the camera filming the person with the camera filming the person following the person in the game. Kind of like me following Twitter following you talking about 4th person following people following a talk.
1st person - I did this
2nd person he did this
4th I Will do this?
The actions are different in all different universes.
Jay Bushman: "The grammars of some languages divide the semantic space into more than three persons. The extra categories may be termed fourth person, fifth person, etc. Such terms are not absolute but can refer depending on context to any of several phenomena.
"Some languages, including among Algonquian languages and Salishan languages, divide the category of third person into two parts: proximate for a more topical third person, and obviative for a less topical third person. The obviative is sometimes called the fourth person.
The term fourth person is also sometimes used for the category of indefinite or generic referents, that work like one in English phrases such as "one should be prepared" or people in people say that..., when the grammar treats them differently from ordinary third-person forms. For example, the so-called "passive tense" in Finnish and related languages is actually not a tense, and has the same meaning as a phrase with subjects "one" or "people" in English"
Caseorganic: What if it’s the collective?
A guy in a bar whose cousin says that his friend’s dog’s girlfriend, did something. Or that they were shot.
Jay: So 4th person shooter is an anecdotal shooter
5th person shooter would be everyone kills Kevin Bacon
No, that would be the 6th person shooter.
4th dimensional shooter
You shoot into a wall into the and the guy across the room diagonally gets shot.
