Definition

The term Sighborg is used to define a person who has become a low-tech cyborg (see David Hess's Definition) through gradual adaptation and acquisition of technical capabilities and external prosthetics. After noticing this, the user is locked into a never-ending series of upgrades, purchase cycles, and subscription plans. When looking at all of this objectively, especially over a period of time that begins with the user completely uninvolved with technology.

The user, looking back on their historical freedom from technology, looks at the phone in their hand or the computer at their desk and sighs.
