He used this invention to design a pair of wings which borrowed heavily from Leonardo daVinci's design. Unfortunately for Albrecht, the wings were a spectacular failure at the time that it counted the most and his life took a downward turn that never righted itself. In 2011 it will be the 200th anniversary of his invention. His descendant Tobias Berblinger is planning to go to Ulm, Germany, where it took place, for the celebration.
